This painting was for The Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm (1906). Two giants persenting as male, beardless, dressed in animal skins, barefoot, are each wielding a tree, roots and all, as a weapon, in this watercolour picture of ochre browns. It was facing page 96 in the book of fairy tales, and is reproduced on page 33 by Hudson.

The border around the picture is also available as a separate image.

They worked themslves up into such a rage that they tore up trees by the roots, and hacked at each other till they both fell dead. (p. 33)
