I left the calligraphic caption in the image, as it seems well done. The author of the book is extremely biased in favour of anyone who was a member of the Roman Catholic sect, and against anyone else, to such an extent that the text accompanying this portrait is not very useful. It shows Queen Mary of Scotland with sceptre and crown and orb, and with a ruff about her neck. Above her are shields showing the union between England and France.
