Today people looking at this circular wreath design stamped in gold would think first of Christmas: there’s holly and ivy and what could pass for ornaments. But if you look more closely it represents the whole year, with roses and daisies and apples and pears and wheat.

This design was used on the front cover of the book “The Circling Year” for 1870; I don’t know whether there were other years or whether the same design was used.
