OF THE NINTH AND TENTH MODES OF HANGING, TO WIT SUSPENDING FROM A HOOK AND PUTTING
TO DEATH WITH A NOOSE.
These two modes of Martyrdom be amply attested in divers Acts
of the Blessed Martyrs—in the first place by those of St. Nicetus, as
also of Saints Gorgonius and Dorotheus, whose deaths are likewise recorded
by Eusebius in his Ecclesiastical History.
