Items taken from The Holy Bible (the King James Authorized Translation of 1611), published in 1875 by A. J. Holman & Co. of Philadelphia.
This is a physically large vlume (over a foot tall) and profusely illustrated, claiming to have “one thousand engravings on steel, wood, and in colors.”
As far as i can tell, the only colour engravings are the title page, and also a “carpet page” featuing the ten commandments and the summary of the law. There are maybe ten or twenty full-page engravings taken from the Doré Bible, and then a lot of smaller, lower-quality pictures.
There is also a commentary and a lot of notes about some of the myths and legends and the places where they were set.
