This rather dramatic picture showd person about to be hung by an angry mob until they are dead. People are tugging on the rpe to raise the victim; they wear workers’ clothing and some of them are barefoot. An onlooker, more formally dressed, stands idly by.
The picture is in the style of a charcoal sketch, and a poem in German accompanied it; Google Translate didn’t do very well on the poetry, but I have included the English translation it gave me.
