Notes:

Amor mit Schmetterling, which is, Cupid with Butterfly, an engraving by F. Feldweg of a painting by the prolific French artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau.

Cupid, here as a modestly-posed naked boy with curly hair and wings, sits on the edge of a rectangular stone fountain, his bow and quiver placed to one side.

The boy is concentrating intently on a butterfly that has landed on his outstretched arm, which he is grasping delicately between thumb and index finger of his left hand.

The butterfly here likely sybolizes hope, and perhaps the ephemeral beauty of youth, since Cupid of course is the god of romantic love.
