The Countess of Blessington (1789 – 1849) lived in London in the first half of the nineteenth century, where she became a close friend of Byron and wrote several novels. She fell into debt, however, and had to leave.

Alfred Edward Chalon (1780 – 1860) was a Swiss painter of portraits who worked in high society.
