Notes:

Yes—and then—Ye, whose clay-cold heads and lukewarm hearts can argue down or mask your passions, tell me, what trespass is this that man should have them? or how his spirit stands answerable to the Father of spirits but for his conduct under them? (p. 158)

A man and woman, in 18th or rustic 19th century costume, are about to walk down a staircase arm in arm.

The book has generous margins, and I have tried to reproduce that feel a little with the space around these beautiful illustrations. They are sized to make computer screeen desktop backgrounds (wallpapers) as well of course as being suitable for clip art or print.
