I scanned this, the reverse side of a cartoon about a boy fishing, because the typography somewhat dates the cartoon.

There is part of an advert for Dry & Fancy [Goods], groceries, clothing, boots, hats, caps, hardware, wallpaper, grain …

The name A. Johnston and the town Olmsteadville appear.

I found references to an Andrew Johnston of Olmsteadville New York from the Documents of the Assembly of that state; Johnston was buying and selling lumber in 1884, suggesting that the cartoon dates from the 1880s.
