Notes:

A curving tunnel with an arched roof and rows of niches in the walls for burials. The Christians did not build the catacombs; they were an underground graveyard, sort of like a multi-story car park under a shopping centre, except for dead people rather than cars, so many of these niches might have had remains in them when the Christians hid here.
