The windows are supposed here to be of Saxon origin; that is, dating between A.D. 440 and A.D. 1100 or so. “A doorway remaining of the old palace at Westminster exhibits the triangular arch (Fig. 212). The windows of the same building present the circular arch, with the single zigzag moulding (Fig. 211).” (p. 63) |
