Hail
Hail [of
Hægel (Saxon),
or
Hagol (Saxon)
Hagel (S. Du. and G.)] a
Meteor formed of Flocks of Snow, which being melted by warm Air, and afterwards
meeting with cold Air, is congealed and turns to Hail, whose Stones are of a
different Figure, according to the Solution of the Flocks, and fall rudely by
reason of their Weight.
