Antiˊpodes [in Geography]
Antiˊpodes [in Geography] such Inhabitants of the Earth, who dwell in opposite Parallels of Latitude, and under
the opposite half of the same Meridian, and walk with their Feet directly opposite
one to another. The Antipodes have the same Length of Day and Night, but at contrary
Times; when it is Noon with the one, it is Midnight with the Other; and the longest
day with one is the shortest with the other; they have likewise the same Degree of
Heat and Cold; they have likewise their Summer and Winter, the Rising
and Setting of Stars quite contrary one to another.
